Beyond Stories: Finding Where He fit.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another
— Galatians 5:13

Tim has never been one to merely sit on the sidelines. He takes action, lends a hand, and it doesn’t take long to recognize his warm and humble spirit. Even as a public accountant, his quiet office and endless spreadsheets are a means of connecting with clients. He acts as a problem solver, helping others navigate financial roads they don’t understand. His mind may be filled with numbers, but his heart is for people.

Growing up in the church, Tim felt a strong call and fulfillment in serving. He simply wanted to help. To make a difference where he could, not for his own satisfaction but for the good of the Kingdom.

He began to ask how. He knew he had unique knowledge, but more than that, a passion for building genuine relationships. It wasn’t until late 2022, during a message on using your gifts, that the Lord connected the dots and opened a door for Tim. In that very service, Tim happened to sit beside our Outreach Director. She shared that 441 had an urgent need for someone with his skills, someone who understood numbers and could serve on the ministry’s financial team.

His schedule was already busy, and a million excuses quickly came to mind, but the Lord gently reminded him of  Galatians 5:13. It says,“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Tim couldn’t shake the feeling that the Lord had placed this opportunity on his path for a reason.

Waiting for Tim on his first day was strong relationships, meaningful conversations, and a powerful opportunity to be a witness to the City of Rochester. In that moment, he saw that God had already equipped him with practical skills and compassion to be part of 441 Ministries. All it took was saying yes.
