Baptism: Shannon Lefler
Shannon grew up attending the same church her father attended as a boy. Her family went somewhat regularly, but it never really stuck with her. She was just going through the motions, repeating the words. When her dad passed away, her family stopped going to church. She ran the other direction and wanted nothing to do with God. Shannon had a rude awakening in 2020, in the height of covid, when she was in a terrible motorcycle accident. She sat in the operating room and recovery room all alone and was terrified. It was then that she asked why she was still here. The answer was God. He had kept her here and had another purpose for her. He not only kept her alive, but He also was present with her every step of the way through her recovery.
Following Christ has brought her clarity and strengthened her faith and trust in God. When she lost her mom at Christmas and another good friend shortly after in March, she knew she would have been crushed without her faith. She would have run the other direction again, but her faith and trust in God kept her moving forward. It has kept her humble and faithful and encourages her to continue.
Shannon is getting baptized today to publicly express her love, belief, faith, and trust in Jesus Christ. He is her Savior today, tomorrow, every day for the rest of her life.
