Baptism: Alex Michel
Before Alex came to faith, he was not religious. He didn’t understand faith; He didn’t know how to pray or even what to wear to church. He struggled with addictions and problems. Alex focused on just making it through the day. “I felt like I was sleep-walking through the dark.”
His process of coming to faith was slow and gradual. He finally began to ask for more help with his addictions and problems. That’s when He gave in and surrendered to Jesus. Almost immediately, things were different and became clearer. He had no pull towards the same activities or addictions anymore. He was even able to draw boundaries with friends who were not Christians. He hadn’t been able to drop these addictions or have these boundaries in his own willpower, but God helped him do it. Everything changed: his relationships with his family, how he viewed himself and his job, even his day-to-day interactions with others.
Alex is getting baptized today to publicly declare his faith. He is a new man, not the person he used to be.
