Baptism: Michael Hale

Michael’s life before Christ was without direction.  He had many questions about faith but didn’t have an outlet to share those questions.  His parents had divorced by the time he entered middle school.  By high school, he decided the whole religion thing wasn’t for him.  He didn’t understand the reason for it.  At this point, his thoughts turned very dark.  Life was worthless, and he couldn’t make life better, no matter what he did.

In college, Michael stumbled upon RIT CRU and decided to talk to someone.  He met two nice guys who invited him to attend a mini church service with them.  One of the biggest takeaways he had was that there were many students who had the same questions that he had.  They didn’t find answers either and fell away from their faith until they came back to it in college.  That was very encouraging to Michael.  He didn’t feel crazy anymore for having these doubts.  He was normal.  By the end of fall semester, he hit his lowest point.  Depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts all came back.  It was a rough time.  In December of 2024, Michael got on his knees and told the Lord that he was lost and broken.  He needed Jesus in his life.  After coming to Christ, the big weight was lifted from his shoulders.  He knew God was with him and never left.  He wouldn’t leave now, and that changed Michael.  He’s kinder now, more patient, more generous, and he has more peace with himself and this life he’s been given.

Today, Michael wants to be baptized to show his friends at school, the church, the world -that change is possible through Jesus Christ.
