Baptism: Rebecca Bearce

Rebecca felt alone and trapped in her choices before she came to Christ.  When she was a young teen, her mom got saved and married a very Godly man.  They both shared the Gospel with her, but she wasn’t ready to accept it for herself.  She told them both, “If your God is who you say he is, then he knows what I need to reach my heart.”

At the age of 20, Rebecca was in the hospital, giving birth to her first son.  She was in an unhealthy, dangerous relationship and in the darkest place she had ever been.  That night, she had a dream that the Lord spoke to her.  He said she had 2 roads in front of her and needed to make a choice.  She could follow the dark road, be cold, scared, and alone. Or she could follow the other road and be warm.  When she woke up, she looked at her son’s father and saw him for who he really was.  He had some type of demonic possession over him, and she was uncomfortable and scared.  That was the moment Rebecca decided to follow Jesus. She prayed then, and her life has never been the same.  She walked with the Lord for several years, then became lukewarm before she hit some trials in her life.  When those trials came, she chose to run straight into the Lord’s arms.  Her life after Christ has been indescribable.  She feels a peace she has never had, she is learning to obey him, be in the Word, and understand what he wants for her as his child.

Today, Rebecca is getting baptized to publicly display her love and obedience to the Lord.  She wants to shout to everybody so they can feel the love Jesus has for them also.  She knows the Lord knocked at her heart for a long time before she answered, and opening the door was worth it.
