Baptism: Grace Wilson

Before Grace came to Jesus, she stole things, lied, and was also mean to her sister and brother.  In Kids’ Ministry, she learned that you can ask God to be part of your heart right now.  She also attended Camp Better and heard Maddie tell the leaders to share their personal stories with the kids about how they came to Christ.  One leader had a similar story to Grace, saying, “You can’t live with God in your heart unless you actually have him in your heart.  You can’t fake it.”  That impacted her.

Last summer, Grace’s family was in the car driving home from the Adirondacks.  She began thinking more about trusting Christ.  She was praying and crying, and her mom asked her what was wrong.  Grace said she was accepted. She knew right then that she could live with God forever in Heaven and have eternal life.  Jesus had died for her on the cross to take her sins, and she wouldn’t have to suffer that death.  Because he took her pain and guilt on himself, she didn’t have to be perfect.  Grace is different now after coming to Christ.  Jesus steers her on the path and helps stop her before she does something she’ll regret.  He’s helping her hold her anger back and be kinder to her siblings.  She sees her siblings being kinder to her, too.

Grace is getting baptized to publicly tell everyone she is a Christian.
