Holding on To Grace
This week we continued our series in Titus, focusing on a dangerous lie that had infiltrated the church in Crete: the idea that the Gospel isn't enough. False teachers were telling people they needed Jesus and their good works—that devotion to Christ must be layered with devotion to the law. Paul urgently confronts this lie, not to punish these teachers, but to redeem them. His heart is that they would be "sound in the faith" and understand that grace is enough to save us and enough to change us. If we've truly believed the message of grace that saves us, then that same message should be shaping the way we live.
