Has Grace Changed You?
Paul writes to Titus, who serves in a church where bad teaching is destroying families. Bad teaching has consequences — Paul saw it destroying homes in Crete. In chapter 2, Paul addresses six groups of people that were present in the church in Crete — older men, older women, younger women, young men, church leaders, and slaves — calling each group to live in a way that reflects the gospel. The key isn't a list of demands; it's grace. Grace cleanses us, teaches us to say no to sin, and compels us to eagerly await Jesus' return. Good teaching produces good fruit — and good teaching is always about grace.
