Seed Packing

Pack Seeds. Plant Hope.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10

When Jesus spoke these words, He was talking about more than survival. He was speaking of a life marked by provision, dignity, purpose, and hope—a life where needs are met and people can flourish as God intended.

1 week.
12 sessions.
1400 people.
32,000 seed packets.

For families in Malawi facing poverty, seeds can make the difference between merely surviving and truly living, between feeling helpless and feeling purpose, between stagnancy and transformation. Time and again, God has used a simple handful of seeds to open the door to that fuller life. Seeds mean nourishment for today, income for tomorrow, and the dignity of providing for one’s family.

What is Seed Packing?

Last year, we came together as one church—over 1,000 people packed 25,000 seed packets. This March, we are stepping out in faith again, believing for more as we pack 32,000 seed packets.

Through Seed Packing, 1,400 people will gather across 12 one-hour sessions in one week to serve. These seeds will be sent to churches in Malawi through our partnership with Global Lift Collective. Each seed pack empowers a family to grow up to 2,000 pounds of vegetables, offering both nourishment and a sustainable source of income.

This is more than sending seeds. It is a tangible expression of Jesus’ promise—participating in His work of bringing life to the full.

Going beyond our walls to strengthen families,
fight poverty, and
seek justice.

Seed packs are a source of hope for our Global Lift Collective partners. There are countless stories of churches and families receiving seeds and agricultural training and then being able to provide in new ways for their families. Seeds can provide essential nourishment for families and opportunities for additional income, and they also support the agricultural programs that our global partners are carrying out. They tell us the type and quantity of seeds needed and we pack then ship them to Malawi!

Did you know? Northridge not only partners with Global Lift Collective, but has been a part of forging the collective from the beginning!

The Impact

A simple act with lasting impact — A single heritage seed can turn into a harvest that sustains a family for generations.

Most seeds in the market have been genetically engineered to prevent the crops from producing seeds that can be replanted for future harvests. The seeds we are packing are heritage seeds that will provide a harvest year after year.

Partnering with the Global Church — The local church is uniting on the logistical front to ensure seeds leaving Rochester are placed directly in the hands of families who need them most.

Please Pray

In a posture of humility, we ask our all-powerful God:

  • To protect these seeds as they travel to Malawi

  • To bring growth to the churches that receive them

  • To send good rain and a HUGE harvest!

  • To deepen the faith of those who grow these seeds

  • To bring hope to those facing the hardest circumstances

  • To give joy to all whose hands touch these seeds
