WARM WELCOME - Open the conversation
If you could invent one piece of technology that doesn't exist yet, what would it do?
DEVOTIONAL - How did this week’s devotionals impact you?
On a scale from 1 (easy) to 10 (impossible), how would you rate your experience resetting your relationship with technology this week? What thoughts, feelings, or physical changes do you notice when you put your devices down for an extended period of time?
Where were you challenged by this week’s focus on rest?
DISCUSS - Enjoy a good conversation using the questions below as a guide - (🔥Deeper Question)
The sermon asks, “Does this deepen real connection or replace it?” Where have you seen technology genuinely strengthen relationships? Where can it create the illusion of connection while actually pulling people apart?
“Total avoidance of tech isn’t wisdom” and “total acceptance of tech isn’t wisdom either.” Where do you tend to live on that spectrum, and why?
Read Ephesians 5:15–16. Where in your life have you confused convenience with wisdom? Is there something technology makes easier that may actually be making you spiritually weaker?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:31. How would your technology habits change if you genuinely applied the question, “Can I do this for the glory of God?”
Are you using technology to move toward God or to avoid God? What emotions, responsibilities, or spiritual disciplines might you be escaping through your screen?🔥
PRACTICE - Ask, “What is one way that you will put scripture into practice this week?”
Who is one person you could encourage through technology this week? Send them a verse, pray for them, make the call, or remind them they aren't alone.
Where is technology currently replacing real presence in your life? What could you do this week to move from the screen to actual presence?
PRAY - Spend 30 minutes sharing, praying, and holding one another accountable.
