Beyond Stories: Amy Brunner
Not everyone who makes a difference holds a title. Sometimes, impact begins with a simple act of obedience.
When God stirred Amy Brunner's heart for people experiencing homelessness in our community, she chose to respond. What started as a personal burden has grown into a meaningful ministry of serving meals, building relationships, and sharing the love of Christ with people who are often overlooked.
Amy invited her Community Group to join her, and together they've learned to see beyond the issue of homelessness to the people behind it; their stories, struggles, dignity, and value. Through conversations, prayer, and consistent presence, they've witnessed life change not only in the people they serve but also in themselves.
One of Amy's favorite reminders is, βIt doesn't have to be serving the homeless.β God calls each of us differently. For some, that may mean caring for a foster family, mentoring a young mom, serving with a Beyond Partner, helping a neighbor in need, or simply showing up for someone who feels unseen.
Amy's story is a powerful reminder that God often works through ordinary people who are willing to take the next step. You don't need a title, a platform, or a perfect plan. You simply need a willing heart.
Every one of us has something to contribute. Every one of us can bring hope, compassion, and the love of Christ into our community. Amy's example shows what can happen when someone simply says yes.
