Baptism: Maggie Nye
Maggie’s life was a struggle before she came to Christ. She grew up in a Catholic church and didn’t study the Bible at home. She can remember herself at the age of 7, attending church with her mom. They were at the various “stations of the cross” when it hit her that Jesus died for her sins. During her teen and college years, she followed the crowd and also got addicted to marijuana. For the next decade, Maggie pursued a good life. She began to see the dark side of the world and how heavy the weight of the darkness was. Newton’s 3rd law- every action has an equal and opposite reaction- jumped out at her. If the darkness exists, then the light also exists in the opposite direction.
One day, Maggie was sitting on the edge of her bed, and the name of Jesus came to her mind, blowing out the darkness there. That was when she trusted Jesus as her Savior and wanted to follow him for the rest of her life. She felt like the prodigal daughter returning to him. She now realizes that she can make a difference in the world by focusing on her relationships, and she feels empowered in her roles as wife and mom. She is happy and feels the peace for which she was searching.
Today, Maggie is getting baptized to show God how grateful she is for his forgiveness, grace, and love.
