JOin Kids MiN FOR a life changing camp experience!

Camp Better is an opportunity for Northridge Kids Ministry to invest more quality time into the lives of the kids we serve while equipping them with a Biblical foundation and Christian worldview. Over the course of four years, we will tackle the following questions:

  • What is Truth?

  • Who do I Worship?

  • Who is God? Who am I?

  • Who is the Church?

All students who have completed 2nd-5th grade (2025–2026 school year) are invited to attend.

What will my Kids Learn this year?

Our theme for 2026 is “What is Truth?” Kids will learn the following:

  • What is truth?

  • What is the source of truth?

  • Who is our highest authority?

  • Is truth a feeling? How do I know right from wrong?

What to Expect

  • Worship

  • Faith Building Experiences

  • Small Group Discussions

  • Large Group Games

  • Snacks

  • Crafts

  • Daily Themes

 Questions

  • Just like we have done before, NYM Serve Team members will drive students to and from the WKND. Vehicle assignments will be based on campus, grade, and gender.

  • Yes, we will have two camp nurses for the full duration of the event. These individuals will be available at registration to discuss any questions or concerns.

    • A set of clothes for each day

    • Clean clothes for sleeping in each night

    • A set of clothes you don’t mind getting dirty

    • T-shirt and swim trunks for water games

    • Rain jacket

    • Attire for a Rodeo (think flannels, hats, etc.)

    • One pair of Closed toed shoes/sneakers/boots

    • One pair of Sandals/Crocs/Water shoes

    • Appropriate Swimwear:

      • Guys: We are asking male students to wear appropriate swim trunks and are encouraging shirts to be worn for water activities.

      • Girls: We are asking female students to wear one-piece bathing suits and are encouraging shorts to be worn for water activities.

    • Toiletries

    • Sunscreen

    • Bug spray

    • Towels (including both a bath towel and pool towel)

    • A Bible

    • A Journal

    • A Pen or Pencil

    • Refillable Water Bottle

    • Spending Money (for lunch on the way to and from camp. Students also can bring funds to purchase merch/knick-knacks/milkshakes/snacks/etc. while at Saranac Village)

    • Extra Snacks

  • We are praying for warm and sunny weather, so students are encouraged to wear late-summer clothing. It would be a good idea to also pack a pair of sweatpants/jeans and a sweatshirt/hoodie in case of colder weather in the evenings.

  • Students are welcome to bring their phones. Aside from transportation to and from Saranac, we are encouraging students to refrain from using them throughout their time at camp. We believe that camp is best experienced disconnected from technology and fully present with the NYM family.

  • Yes! We are prayerfully preparing to offer student baptism during the WKND. If your student is interested in being baptized at the WKND, we are encouraging them to pre-register by completing Northridge’s baptism pipeline, found here. As the NYM team receives these applications, we will confirm your student’s interest in baptism at the WKND. Parents of students being baptized are welcome to come for the lakeside baptisms on Sunday evening, and we will be sure to partner with parents as we prepare for this!
