Baptism: Cheryl Orefice

Cheryl’s life before Christ was difficult. She grew up on her own in many ways, as she didn’t see her dad much, and her mom was a business owner who spent a lot of time out of the home. As she went through high school, she made some poor decisions that now she realizes had to do with not knowing at all who she was. Her dad, who was a believer, would try to draw her back to God, and even though she did try and pray, she felt that her knowledge of God never really reached her heart.

God really worked in Cheryl’s life when she ended up in Chaplain training at Strong Hospital. There, she began to learn more about him through his word, and she came to really understand the significance of Christ and his death and resurrection. Seeing God work in her life this way made her realize how much he loved and accepted her. Cheryl recently came to realize the importance of baptism, and she is getting baptized as a declaration of her new life found in him.
