Partnering with parents to see more kids become better followers of Jesus.

How We Partner With Parents

Northridge Kids believes the best way we can help your kids develop their own faith is by partnering with you. Together, we can help inspire, equip, and pray for them as their faith grows.

Here are some practical ways that each week you can help us make the most of your child’s time at church:

  • Pick a consistent service time and location to help your kids build a consistent relationship with their Small Group leader and other kids their age. Check Out Service Times & Locations

  • Check out the Northridge Kids Blog & sign up for text blast to receive weekly updates and resources about what your child is learning.

  • Grow in your faith and build relationships with other Northridge parents by getting involved in a Community Group.

  • Pray for your children each week as they come to church, and pray for our teams as they serve and care for your kids.

What to expect

  • Arrival

When you arrive come to Kids check-in located in the lobby area. At check-in, we will meet your family and check your child(ren) into our system.

    Check-In

On your first visit, look for the Northridge Kids' Check-in area. If you can’t find it, one of our staff or volunteers will gladly help you! At the Check-in area, you'll be welcomed by a Northridge Kids volunteer eager to meet your family and show you how Northridge Kids works. To check your child in, we’ll need some information at that time, including a family member's name, your child's name and birthday, your address, your phone number, and any special instructions. We'll be there every step of the way so feel free to ask questions!

    Escort to the Appropriate Room

Once your family is checked in, we’ll print a name tag for your child(ren) which includes a code that matches a portion of the name tag that you will keep for pickup. At that time one of our volunteers will gladly show you the appropriate room we’ve designed for your child.

    During the Service

If any need for your child arises during our services, we will text the number you provided at check-in, so have your phone nearby, but please ensure it is silenced to limit distraction.

    Pickup

Upon the conclusion of the adult weekend experience, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag with the matching identification code in order for your child to be released back to you.

    Your Child’s Saftey

The physical and emotional safety of your child is our primary concern. Please communicate any information that helps ensure that we can provide the greatest care for your family while you’re with us.

The goal of Northridge Kids is not only safety but also to create a fun and engaging environment that points your children to Jesus. One of the best ways you can judge how well we did that day is to ask your kids two questions on your ride home: “What did you like best?” and “What did you learn today?"

  • Our desire is to provide excellent experiences for kids. We hope that they love their time with us while you (their parents/guardians) participate in the worship experience. You can be confident that your kids’ environments are specifically designed for both their physical and emotional well-being. At Northridge Kids, safety is one of our highest priorities. That's why we have a secure check-in system at every Northridge Campus. Upon check-in, you'll receive matching identification stickers. Your child will need to wear their name tag sticker and you will need to keep the matching tag. After the service, you'll show the Northridge Kids leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from their room. Every Northridge Kids volunteer leader is screened, participates in a background check, and receives appropriate training. Additionally, background-checked security teams serve at each campus to make sure your child stays safe and secure. In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will send you a text message.

  • If you have a child with special needs who might need a little extra support to participate in Northridge Kids, we'd love to partner with you to make their experience amazing! Complete this form to let us know how we can best serve your family.

  • The Bible is the most amazing book ever written! Our desire is for the Bible to serve as the absolute authority of our lives and we want it to be the same in every kid’s life since the Bible is from God himself. Each week our desire is to share the message of the gospel so that it may be accepted by unbelievers and serve as motivation for followers of Jesus. By sharing the Bible through fun lessons, games, activities, small groups, and some video teaching we hope to help kids learn and apply God’s Word to their own lives. Everything we do in our large and small groups including the songs we sing and the activities we do are created with your child’s age in mind. We want the Gospel to make sense to kids exactly where they are.

  • Absolutely! God designed us for community. Our desire is to partner with parents by serving as a resource for your family as kids build healthy relationships! When you as their parent commit to attending the same service each week, then your child will be surrounded by a small group of familiar faces that includes leaders and kids their own age.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Parents & Children on stage during dedication

Parent & Child Dedication

It's an opportunity for parents:

  • To publicly recognize their children are a gift from God.

  • To dedicate themselves to Christ-centered parenting, pointing their kids to Jesus at every opportunity.

  • To commit to living within a community of believers.

  • To commit to model godly principles with the hope that one day their child will accept Jesus as the forgiver of their sins and leader of their life.

Our next Parent & Child Dedication will take place on Sunday, June 2nd.
