“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” –Jeremiah 29:7

Inspired by God’s words to the exiles in Babylon through the prophet Jeremiah and in conjunction with our efforts to live Pi2 lives (Pray, Invest, Invite), Northridge Church has established a fund that focuses on engaging our congregation to seek the welfare of the city of Rochester and surrounding communities.

Grants will be distributed through Northridge Church members to local Christian non-profit organizations they actively serve. Grants will be awarded up to $500 to these organizations if the following criteria are met.

  1. Applicant must be a Northridge Church member who is actively attending a community group.
  2. The applicant must also be actively serving as a volunteer in the focus organization. To be “actively serving” means the member has given at least 20 hours of time to the organization in the last 6 months as of the time of application.
  3. The Northridge Church member must fully complete the online application that includes a description of the organization and how the member has been personally involved.
  4. The organization must be a local registered 501(c)3 non-profit that is Christian faith-based that seeks the flourishing of the greater Rochester area.
  5. The organization must not be political in nature.
  6. The Northridge Church member must be willing to be featured in a video interview to highlight their involvement in the focus organization and the impact of the organization in the community.
  7. The organization’s mission and values must not be in conflict with the values and core creeds of Northridge Church. (Interpretation of this is at the discretion of the Senior Leadership Team of Northridge Church)

After an application is submitted, the Northridge Church Senior Leadership Team will review the application and decide how to allocate funds. The Jeremiah Fund is not limitless, so the dispersal of money might be rejected or delayed based solely on the availability of funds. The final amount disbursed will be at the discretion of the Senior Leadership Team.

We reserve the right to not award funds to an organization that has already received funds from Northridge Church in the last year.
